Lillian is an unincorporated community on US-98 with 1,330 residents in the 2020 census. Its eastern edge is the Alabama-Florida line. It was named for Lillian Kee, the postmaster’s daughter. The first Perdido Bay Bridge to Florida opened in 1916, replacing a ferry, and the current bridge dates to 1980. Nearby, the Lillian Swamp is protected as a nature preserve through the Forever Wild Land Trust.
